Born and raised in Toronto, Dr. Pham was inspired by his family’s 30-year commitment to eyecare and was naturally drawn to the profession. After completing his Bachelor of Science at Queen’s University, he earned his Doctor of Optometry from the prestigious New England College of Optometry in Boston.
Clinical Training & Areas of Expertise
During his training, Dr. Pham completed clinical externships at several highly regarded institutions, gaining broad experience in both general and specialized eye care. His areas of expertise include the diagnosis and management of conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy. He also has advanced training in contact lens fittings, including soft lenses and specialty options like rigid gas permeable and ortho-keratology lenses designed to slow the progression of nearsightedness. Dr. Pham is board certified in both Canada (Optometry Examining Board of Canada) and the United States (National Board of Examiners of Optometry), and is an active member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists.

About Dr. Katie Chan
Beyond the classroom, Dr. Chan has always valued giving back. She participated in a volunteer mission trip to Honduras, where she provided essential eyecare to underserved communities. Fluent in English and Cantonese, and continuing to strengthen her Mandarin. Dr. Chan connects with patients across diverse backgrounds. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys staying active at the gym, exploring new restaurants, and travelling.
Dr. Katie Chan’s journey into eyecare began with a strong love for both science and education. She earned her Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education degrees from Queen’s University before completing her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo, one of North America’s renown optometry schools.
Clinical Training & Areas of Expertise
Dr. Katie Chan completed extensive clinical training that equipped her with advanced skills in diagnosing and managing a wide range of eye conditions. During her ocular disease internship in Florida, she gained in-depth experience treating glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and chronic dry eye. She also trained in Richmond Hill, where she focused on myopia control using orthokeratology (Ortho-K) lenses, fitting specialty contact lenses, and providing co-management for LASIK and cataract surgery. With this diverse clinical background, Dr. Chan is able to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered eyecare tailored to each individual’s vision needs.
